Farming is not just a job, it's your entire way of life ...

As a farmer, you are truly at the centre of the Universe. You raise your stock and grow crops to provide the food that we all eat: you also sustain your own existence. It is the first and the noblest profession.

You are proudly independent and resilient. You answer only to Nature. You stay out of the rat race. You are free. It's no wonder that you wish to continue farming: you wish to continue living a free and authentic life, where you call the shots.

The pride, the joy, and the freedom, which comes from farming is priceless. These are the cherished gifts - often inherited - that most farmers would like to pass on to their descendants.

The farmers were also the soldiers of ancient Athens. When their city-state faced the invading army of a tyrant, they put down their farming implements and took up their shields and swords. They chose their battle leader: their life-and-death strategist, by secret ballot, and in so doing, invoked the birth of Democracy and her child: Freedom.

You will not have to charge into battle like the Athenian farmers did, but you may have to deal with unscrupulous corporate competitors, unethical finance providers, ruthless buyers, droughts, floods, and other hostile forces, including unexpected twists of Fate, and reversals of Fortune. You need not face that kind of tyrannical 'army' alone.

We will stand with you.

"The simple hearth of the small farm is the
true centre of the Universe."

"The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops,
but the cultivation and perfection of human beings."
